Leeds based Far Caspian have returned after 2018’s shimmering jangle pop EP Between Days with brand new track ‘Conversations’. The band has become known for their DIY approach to music, producing their own recordings released via local label Dance to the Radio.
On ‘Conversations’, Far Caspian seem to have diverted slightly from the more open spaces aided by lush reverb on ‘Between Days’ for a more intimate production style; feeling like an early soundtrack to summer with chorus washed guitars, soft vocal harmonies and a groovy drum machine that nods to the likes of Metronomy and Phoenix. Whilst the track has a nostalgic feel it brings a huge amount of personal charm and uniqueness, it might be their best yet.
It is a welcome development for the Leeds group and displays a more light-hearted nature in the band. In their own words ‘check it out and have yourself a boogie’, you wont be disappointed.
