Back in December, we covered the debut single release from the enigmatic and intriguing Orville Peck. “Big Sky” was a crooning, trembling and bordering-on-menacing introduction from the mysterious new masked country star.
Last week, Orville Peck announced his debut album Pony (March 22nd via Sub Pop) and released the album’s lead single, the cavernously romantic “Dead of Night”. The song tells the story of two hustlers travelling through the Nevada Desert. A tale of romance ultimately ending in tragedy, “Dead of Night” is a mournful recollection of fond memories; two souls travelling together through canyon highways and casino towns.
Accompanied by a video (watch below), Orville Peck’s latest single promises so much from a debut album we are eagerly anticipating.
