What’s New? The Orielles – Bobbi’s Second World

The first single written with the addition of new keys player Alex, “Bobbi’s Second World” is The Orielles’ wildest, wonkiest and most exciting song to date.

A vibrant explosion of eccentric synth lines with electric blasts of instrumentation, the track bounces somewhere high above funk, post-punk and northern soul. Equally off-the-wall lyrics tell the story of a cat named Bobbi who, in order to transform into a lady, has to face the two separate realities of her front and back gardens. But most importantly, sonic and lyrical idiosyncrasies aside, the song unreservedly demands a boogie.

Accompanying the single is a similarly staggering funk-cover of Peggy Gou’s dance masterpiece “It Makes You Forget (Itgehane)”. And with that, The Orielles may have just released the single package of the year. Listen to both new tracks below:
