Blending shoegaze, grunge and breezy pop into their own distinguished sound, Tallies are a Toronto-based four piece who cite Manchester as the source of several of their main influences.
Fans of bands like The Durutti Column and The Smiths, Tallies channel guitar stylings of Johnny Marr with shoegazy textures bred via a taste for The Sundays. The final product, underlined with Sarah Cogan’s glisteningly smooth lead vocals, is a multifarious band characterised by an enamouring and infectious brightness.
Announcing their self-titled debut album (January 11th via Fear of Missing Out Records), the band also revealed the record’s lead single ‘Beat the Heart’, with an accompanying video. Watch below:
