Not overly known for its musical output, Dunfermline is a small town just outside Edinburgh that contains one of the UK’s hottest new indie-pop outfits.
Dancing On Tables are a five-piece set of school friends who named themselves after arriving at a show without a band name. They peeked through the curtains and saw that the audience was dancing on tables and, voila. It’s this sort of care-free, fun-driven approach to music that’s earned them a lot of early support in the music industry. Since being signed to LV Music, their releases have been supported by Wonderland Magazine, Clash, Shazam and Record of The Day. They’ve also picked up on their live game, performing at industry melting pot The Great Escape as well as a full UK tour supporting Cassia lined up for this Autumn.
The first single from their new album is the unmistakably feel-good ‘Colour Me Good’ – the track encapsulates everything that makes the band one of the most exciting new talents on the indie radar. Sun-drenched, dance-able songwriting with a distinct scottish charm. It’s an emphatic, modern production with a hint of summer nostalgia.
