Sŵn Festival reveals first names for 2018

Sŵn Festival, Cardiff’s best multi-venue festival, has revealed the first wave of names punters can expect to see come October.

Drenge, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever and The Go! Team are amongst the announcement, which accompanies news that the festival is now under new management: the team behind the iconic Clwb Ifor Bach, one of the festival’s venues. Gwenno, Dream Wife, current TMB fave Halo Maud and many more are also scheduled to appear throughout the 4 day event.

Speaking of the change in management, co-founder John Rostron explains: ‘When we established Sŵn we always envisaged that at some point we would hand it over to the music community and step away, and we now have the right opportunity to do this. It’s thrilling and exhilarating to step away yet know that Sŵn will continue to develop in new hands. Without doubt it will be weird to go and not have any work to do, but I’m looking forward to being free to see as many bands as humanly possible that week.’

With a scorching line up offering the best from both newcomers and more established acts, October looks set to be a lot warmer than expected.

Sŵn runs from Wednesday October 17th to Saturday 20th. Tickets go on sale this Friday. Find the full announcement below.
