Hewing emo-pop from a fierce vulnerability, Bristol’s Dogeyed released their impressive debut EP Throw the Bones last Friday via Specialist Subject Records. From the five tracks, ‘Om’ is a standout. An uptight, angry ballad wrestling with a gorgeous restraint through slow burning guitars and military drumming, it succeeds in holding back its vitriol until it can smother the fury no more. Angry chords spill forth as Harriet Elder’s incredible vocals hold onto the mantra of a chorus like an anchor in a flood.
‘Om’ is just one of the handful of powerful tracks – expect big things from the trio.
