London-based band Bokito have just returned with third track ‘Love Gotten’, following on from last year’s ‘Aloof’ and ‘Better At Getting Worse’.
They’re already well on their way to nailing daftly fun summer songs: this is a high-energy explosion of Tropicana, coconuts and sunshine. You can almost taste having it on at some baking hot barbeque in the park.
There’s twinkly, tropical guitars with a sprinkling of funky bass and drum pounds, but the stand-out is Moses Moorhouse’s charismatic vocals. Sometimes his lyrics may be unintelligible but it somehow brings the whole song togther, with the rest of the band wrapping around him for a finale that you can’t help shaking a pineapple to.
