Live at Leeds is getting closer and closer, so let us help you get acquainted with 2018’s ace line-up with our New Music Delivery. This week sees us get cosy with High Tyde – the Brighton quartet that smash out bangers like they’re going out of fashion…
WHO ARE WE?
Hi! Please introduce yourselves:
Yo, we is High Tyde. This mad crazy rock band.
Where are you from?
How long have you been performing?
Over 6 years together now
Describe your sound in one sentence:
Gritty indie/rock with pop melodies
What part of Live at Leeds are you most excited about?
We’ve never actually played the official live at Leeds event so gassed to be a part of the madness. Heard a lot of good things and we will not be letting anyone down.
Tell us your plans for the rest of 2018:
Festival slots, parties, loads of studio time and bigger vibes.
THE KILLERS – Run For Cover
A perfect mix between pop and rock music, love the production on this record as it’s so fresh and exciting.
MGMT – Electric Feel
Wouldn’t say the sound has influenced us that much as we aren’t a heavily synth-based band. But when we need general vibe inspiration in the studio this is near to top of the list.
FOSTER THE PEOPLE – Lotus Eater
Admire them so much for coming back with a straight up indie banger, considering how electronic the first and second records were. Also love the sound of the BV’s at 0.42.
J HUS – Like Your Style
Just listen man, dopest sounds.
JAMIE T – Sticks and Stones
Such a well-written song, love the double chorus thing and how it leaves you waiting, wanting more.
OUR 3 NEW BAND PICKS:
THE PALE WHITE:
Wicked new band from Newcastle, got their vibe and sound dialled. Definitely worth a listen!
Heard ‘Ceasefire’ a few months back and fell in love. Got a Catfish vibe about them.
These boys are on the road with us in February and I’m gassed about it. ‘Radio punk’ is one of my fave songs at the moment.
