What’s New? Pip Blom – I Think I’m In Love

If recent years have seen a Spanish invasion from bands such as Hinds, Baywaves, The Parrots and Los Nastys, 2018 looks set to be the year the best of the Netherlands reach our shores. Leading the charge is Pip Blom and her plucky brand of garage-pop, spearheading the way for fellow Dutch allies Canshaker Pi, Mozes and the Firstborn (who also produced Blom’s new single) and Iguana Death Cult.

‘I Think I’m In Love’ initially seems tense and unyielding with a paranoid, stabbing riff but soon relaxes into itself with Blom’s blase vocal delivery and lo-fi mastery of melodies. Fuzzy and highly-charged, Blom and her band head out on a co-headline tour with TMB faves Sports Team at the end of the month.
