Live at Leeds is just around the corner, so what better to get acquainted with 2018’s smashing line-up than our New Music Delivery? This week sees us get cosy with FLING – your new favourite quintet that ooze cool on their effortlessly catchy indie-pop tunes:
WHO ARE WE?:
Hi! Please introduce yourselves:
Good day people. We want to know you and we want you to know us, so lets make the world spin more efficiently. We’re trying to shed a little light into the world whilst having a good time. Remember it’s just a ride.
Where are you from?
We’re from the underbelly of Yorkshire, Bradford – a land so criminally misjudged by the people surrounding it, it’ll cause future revolt.
How long have you been performing?
Collectively we’ve been onstage together for just over a year, but this band has been in the making and moulded for the last two years. We were lost boys in the mire. Positive energy brought us together and FLING was born.
Describe your sound in one sentence:
What part of Live at Leeds are you most excited about?
LAL is the start of SUMMER. The UK has always been at the forefront of exciting new art and music and LAL just gets it. It’s a day out for us, it’s a day to see whats riding the music wave. The beautiful thing about LAL is that it attracts people who love music and invest their time in new bands. What more could you want?
Tell us your plans for the rest of 2018:
Step back – zoom out – be kind. There are a lot of awful things going on in our planet at moment. We’re not the answer nor the cure, but if we can make a momentary world together lets give it a go. 2k18 – come on, get flung.
