What’s New? 06.11.17 (Boy Azooga, Have You Ever Seen The Jane Fonda Aerobic VHS?, Egyptian Blue)

What’s New? is the place to come for your new music fix – exclusively here on Too Many Blogs. Every week we bring you 3 new tracks for essential listening.

Boy Azooga – Face Behind Her Cigarette

Having literally just announced their signing to Heavenly Records, Boy Azooga have come through with a STRONG debut single. Despite the 60 second intro full to the brim with funk, there’s no guessing what will come next. Luckily, it’s a cool as a cucumber vocal spinning around reverb-ridden guitars before the track’s Pacman-esque synth melody comes back to greet us. How they managed to pack all of it into 3:19 I’ll never know.

Have You Ever Seen The Jane Fonda Aerobic VHS? – Sheep

Some call it crazy, some call it ridiculous, some including myself call it the best band name ever. ‘Sheep’ was an attempt to be an “attempt to reduce ovinaphobia.” Ovinaphobia being the fear of getting molested at night by Goats/Sheep, common by teens from the UK and USA – apparently. It’s a 7-minute whirlwind of 80s synths and catchy melodies, listen up folks…

Egyptian Blue – Cut Me A Hole

This group of boys from Brighton have been causing havoc with their riotous post punk for a good couple of years, and they’re not stopping anytime soon. ‘Cut Me A Hole’ begins as it means to finish, unstoppable bass and screams to high heaven will echo around your eardrums for the foreseeable future.
