What’s New? The Fjords – Lost

Where The Fjords come from is a no-brainer; it isn’t East Anglia or Holland, for sure. And their sound is evocative of the grand sweeping coastal terrain of their homeland.

The catchy electro chorus for latest single ‘Lost’ tackles a rather disturbing subject –  the perilous escape from abusive relationships. The accompanying DIY animated video – illustrated, edited and directed by frontman Petter Vagån – was inspired by the physically abusive experience of a friend. It may be a fantasy world, but there’s no sugary cartoon relationships here.

The Fjords formed from relationships built out of a solo project at the Trondheim Jazz Conservatory, growing into a four-man outfit that also includes Oscar Grönberg (synth, vocals), Bardur Reinert Poulsen (bass, synth, vocals) and Kim Christer Hylland (drums, electronics, vocals). Definitely another one to watch.
