What’s New? 19.08.2017 (Tom Tripp, AUTOBAHN, Lazy Day)

What’s New? is the place to come for your new music fix – exclusively here on Too Many Blogs. Every Sunday we bring you 3 new tracks for essential listening.

Tom Tripp – Pamela

Co-written with Danish pals LISS, this new single from Tom Tripp has all the key ingredients to be the best item on this week’s menu. A killer tune with a tasty melody and delicious vocals, the muted electronic cuts below could have come straight from your favourite Weeknd track, yet there’s elements of 00s pop R&B in there. It’s a stew of goodness, and we’ll be back for seconds.

AUTOBAHN – The Moral Crossing

I’ve missed Autobahn as much as the next guy, but do not fear, they’re back! And sounding more like a mix of Gary Numan and Ian Curtis than ever. ‘The Moral Crossing’, also the title of their upcoming 2nd album, fills you up with the ceaseless drumming and strung out chords as Craig Johnson emphatically yells “the will of every man who dies by the sword, each one forgotten” cutting right through the ruckus above.

Lazy Day – Hiccup

Soft but not shy vocals Lazy Day frontwoman Tilly make this track what it is, articulate and expressive, at times almost sounding like Lucy Rose if she went down a slightly rockier route. The dramatic and energetic guitars and drums complement her perfectly making Lost Map Records latest release a total winner.
