What’s New? 19.04.17 (Molly Drag, Arlie, Sulky Boy)

What’s New? is the place to come for your new music fix – exclusively here on Too Many Blogs. Every Wednesday we bring you 3 new tracks for essential listening.

Molly Drag – Glass

Known by some as drummer for Fog Lake, Molly Drag is the solo moniker of Michael Hansford. ‘Glass’ is the first single from upcoming album whatever reason (out April 21st) and is 5 minutes of lo-fi heaven. Distorted falsetto vocals and mellow chords set the scene throughout this ponderous track, gentle guitar pulling us deeper and deeper in Molly Drag’s world of wonder. Hansford has been gaining support from Impose and Noisey already on this new record, and we can confirm it’s excellent

Arlie – Big Fat Mouth

Nashville boppers Arlie are for fans of “indie lemon square pop” according to their Facebook page, but they’re a lot more than that (any Manchester people thinking of Stone Roses influences now, think again.) ‘Big Fat Mouth’ has oriental-tinges within its sweet indie pop walls, fans of Will Joseph Cook listen up.

Sulky Boy – Drunk Dial

“When you see my name on your phone please assume that I’m a mess” the newly returned Sulky Boy yelps on new aptly titled ‘Drunk Dial’. These Echochamp Recs dudes keep up appearances with lazy yet glorious guitars and perfectly crisp cymbals. There’s a romantic but desperate feel in the air, a passionate tone of voice and filled with emotion.
