What’s New? 22.03.17 (H.Grimace, RAYS, Brooch)

What’s New? brings you 3 new tracks for essential listening every week.

H.Grimace – Call It Out

Dark and mysterious, this dose of post-punk from scuzzy Londoners is the latest cut from debut album ‘Self Architect’ out April 7 on Opposite Number. Beginning with a discordant ringing in your ears, the track gets shiftier by the second, fans of FEWS listen up.

RAYS – Made of Shadows

“The man in the wings is spread very thin, where does he end, where does he begin” RAYS question on this new single from their upcoming debut album. The melodic agility of Shopping with the quick course chords and feedback frenzy of Parquet Courts. They’re onto a winner I’d say.

Brooch – Broken Glass

A collaboration between members of Ought and Yung (two brilliant bands), Brooch has been in the studio with MJ of Hookworms creating luscious new music. ‘Broken Glass’ meanders along with gentle falsetto and plodding guitars, according to Mikkel of Yung the track is “about ambition, love, lust and ultimately endings” which the music represents fittingly.
