Since signing to Heavenly last year, after a string of DIY releases through labels such as Art is Hard and Healthy Eating, fans have been on tenterhooks for their first offering and ‘Sugar Tastes Like Salt’ excites to no end.
The regular set closer finally gets a release in its full 8-minute glory, and the loveable hybrid of psych and disco which will easily capture the attention of the few still left wondering whether The Orielles are the real deal. Saccharine, butter-wouldn’t-melt vocals adorn spiralling guitar lines and a funk bassline until it all climaxes in an intoxicating, tempo-shifting outro, capturing the live performance perfectly.
