Album Review: Heidi Browne – Holiday For Your Heart

Review by Oli Ng

Heidi Browne’s 4th studio album, “Holiday For Your Heart” has something for everybody. Tracks “Little Darling” and “Make You Rich” are full to the brim of soul and show Heidi’s vocals off beautifully. “Under The Weather” and “Number Song” are, for me, classic Heidi Browne songs with her Jazzy-Folk side really shining through. These two songs wouldn’t have looked out of place on her previous release “White Rabbits”.

Heidi Browne – Holiday For Your Heart

Title track “Holiday For Your Heart” is one of the stand out songs of the album. It’s upbeat, pacy and bound to go down a storm at live shows. The potential for a remix or two is certainly in there if it was put into the hands of the right producer. If you’re looking for a track to get stuck in your head, “Stuck On You” is that song (see what I did there?). Heidi performed this song on her recent “Tea For Two” Tour, and it was certainly stuck on me for a long while afterwards. There is also “Caravan”, a track packed with instrumentation; double bass, drums, piano, saxophone and violin give the track great dynamics and a lovely upbeat feel.

Holiday For Your Heart” is some of Heidi’s finest work. Perfectly written songs, mixed with outstanding production have created a collection of songs which I’m sure will be loved and appreciated by anybody who has the privilege of hearing them.

After support and airplay from BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 2 and more, Heidi is currently down under, on a tour of Australia.

Holiday For Your Heart” is due for release on the 14th February 2016.
